Charging Your Scooter

How to Charge

Turn Off the Scooter

  • Ensure the scooter is powered off.

Connect the Charger

  • Plug the charger securely into the scooter’s charging port.

Plug into Wall Outlet

  • Connect the charger to a standard electrical outlet.

Monitor Charging:

  • Watch for the charging indicator light to confirm charging has started. When fully charged, unplug both ends of the charger.

 

Following these steps will safely charge your scooter and ensure it’s ready for use when needed.

How it Works

Starting the Scooter

  • Make sure the scooter is fully charged.
  • Be aware of your surroundings and be cautious when driving in busy areas.

To start the scooter:

  • Insert the key into the key switch and turn it to the ON position.
  • The throttle control lever will be in the center position.
  • To accelerate, push the throttle control lever forward.
  • To brake, pull the throttle control lever back.

To turn:

  • Use the handlebars to steer the scooter.
  • To turn left, turn the handlebars to the left.
  • To turn right, turn the handlebars to the right.

To stop:

  • Slowly release the throttle control lever to come to a stop.

How to Load in a Vehichle

Seat and Battery Removal

  • Fold down the seat back and lift the seat straight up to remove it from the post. Lift up the battery pack and detach it from its Velcro holding.

Front Basket & Tiller Adjustment:

  • Remove the front basket by lifting it off the bracket mounts. Loosen the Delta tiller by turning the knob, fold down the tiller, and tighten the knob to lock it into place.

Separating & Connecting 

  • Gently lift up on the handle, and the front section will effortlessly separate from the back.

Complete Process

  • The scooter is now separated into five pieces.
  • Follow the steps in reverse order to reassemble the scooter, ensuring all components are securely reattached.

General Safety

  • Do not operate the scooter if you are tired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

 

  • Be aware of your surroundings and be cautious when driving in busy or hard to navigate areas.

 

  • Do not drive the scooter on roads or highways.

 

  • Keep your hands and feet away from moving parts while driving.

 

  • Be aware of loose-fitting clothes that can become caught in the drive wheels.

 

  • Do not connect an extension cord to the battery charger.

Troubleshooting

The scooter won’t start:

  • Check the battery voltage next do the key ignition. If the battery voltage is low, charge the battery.
  • If the battery is fully charged and the scooter still won’t start, first check to ensure the battery is fully seated and making a connection. Lift the battery to re-seat. If the scooter still does not start, contact customer service.

The scooter won’t accelerate:

  • Make sure the throttle control lever is in the forward position.
  • Check the battery voltage. If the battery voltage is low, charge the battery.
  • Contact customer service if the battery is fully charged and the scooter still won’t accelerate.

The scooter won’t turn:

  • Make sure the handlebars are not locked.

  • Make sure the key is fully inserted into the key switch.

 

  • Make sure the battery pack is seated properly (tight and secure) on the Scooter.

 

  • Make sure the battery quick-disconnect harness connections are fully joined.

 

  • Make sure the main circuit breaker has not tripped—push in the main circuit breaker reset button.

What if the Scooter powers up, but will not move?

  • Check if the key has been left in the key switch for a long period of inactivity. The Scooter has a Power Down Timer feature that will power down the internal electronics of the Scooter after long periods of inactivity to conserve battery power. Remove then reinsert the key to restore normal operation.

 

  • Check if the battery charger is plugged into the charger power cord receptacle on the Scooter. The battery charger will inhibit the Scooter when the charger is plugged into the charger power cord receptacle even
    if the charger is not plugged into an electrical outlet.

 

  • Check if the Scooter is emitting a beep code. The controller used on the Travel Scooter will beep a fault code when it has indicated a problem with the Scooter. The number of beeps will indicate the fault.

Is Your Scooter Beeping? Here is what to do​

2 Beeps – Battery voltage is too low to operate the Scooter. | Solution – Charge the batteries fully until charger and any meters indicate completion.

3 Beeps – Battery voltage is too high to operate the Scooter. | Solution – Contact Rent My Roll Team.

5 Beeps – Solenoid brake trip. The manual freewheel lever may be in the freewheel position. | Solution – Remove the key, then push the manual freewheel lever to the drive position and
restart the Scooter.

6 Beeps – Throttle trip. The throttle control lever may have been depressed while inserting the key. | Solution – Release the throttle control lever completely, then reinsert the key.

7 Beeps – Throttle trip. Throttle potentiometer fault or speed potentiometer fault. | Solution – Contact Rent My Roll Team.

8 Beeps – The motor is disconnected.| Solution – Contact Rent My Roll Team.

9 Beeps – Possible controller trip. You may be attempting to install the battery pack while the key is inserted or the motor controller may be in overheat protective mode. Solution – Shut down your Scooter for a minimum of several minutes to allow the controller to cool. Or, try reinserting the key into the key switch.
